Camels

Camels are generally large animals, by a long, thin neck, small head and relatively long, slender legs are characterized. In terms of size but there are clear differences between the Neuweltkamelen, which weighs 35 to 150 kilograms and reach the Camel, the 300 to 700 kilograms heavy.

The skull of the camels is level and langgestreckt, horns or antlers do not exist. The upper lip is split, the Nüstern are closeable. These animals have from 30 to 34 teeth: per pine half only an upper incisor exists which is developed similarly to eyetooth, a total of six spatula-shaped lower incisors rise forwards. Between the eyetooth and the molars gapes a gap called Diastema.

As camels mainly inhabit dry regions, they have a number of features designed to improve the water hauszuhalten.

The Camel probably come originally from Asia.

The new world camels seem mostly in higher situated mountain regions in western and southern South America where they inhabit dry, open area till 5700-metre sea.
