Cholpon-ata is a seaside resort on the northern shore of Yssy-Kul in Kyrgyzstan.

The whole-annual population amounts to about 8,000. The place contains numerous hotels coming from the Soviet time, sanitariums and company houses to take up the numerous summer company who found here rest during the Soviet time on organised mass holidays, today holiday mostly in small groups or as family company. Because of the relatively warm sea water, the level beach and the dependably warm summer weather takes pleasure in Tscholponata of big popularity with tourists from Kirgisistan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, and the look over the lake after the south on the immense summits of the Tianshan mountains is impressive.
