Marmot

Marmot is the inhabitants of high array. Also, several species of these animals adapted to life in alpine altitudes in Asia.

The distribution area lies about from Eastern Europe through northern Asia and Central Asia to eastern Siberia and Xinjiang (if the autonomous region in the far west of China).

Marmots build extensive tunnel systems which can leave pipes and there are separate long buildings. And also dead passes which are used as "toilets". Passes can have length from 10 to 70 m, till now the measured record there were the tunnel in length of 113 m.

Day marmots leave their burrows. They are mainly active on the ground and can barely stand up. Their food is grass and medicinal plants, fruits, seeds and insects. In the winter of hibernation, marmots spend extended from six to seven, but may take up to nine months.

In case of danger, they emit a shrill whistle to warn all members of the colony.
